该方法旨在解决煤层气勘探开发中储层非均质性强、选区评价方法难的技术难题。这一提案在国际标准化组织（ISO/TC 263）中成功立项，填补了煤层气国际标准中的一项空白。该提案的通过，标志着中国在煤层气领域的技术和标准国际化方面取得了重要进展，为建设世界一流的综合性国际能源公司奠定了基础，同时也为中国深度参与煤层气国际市场竞争迈出了关键一步。
