这台离心式压缩机以其设计日注气能力1000万立方米，成为了国内现役储气库中排量最大的压缩机，也是储气库调整工程二期建设的核心设备。随着其顺利投运，呼图壁储气库的压缩机总数增至9台，日注气能力得到了大幅提升，日注气量创下历史新高，为储气库的安全高效运行和即将到来的冬季保供提供了强大的动力支撑。
截至5月26日，国内单台排量最大的电驱高压离心式压缩机在新疆油田呼图壁储气库已安全平稳运行1个月。压缩机“新军”的加入使储气库整体日注气能力新增1000万立方米，为储气库注采能力提升和加速达容达产奠定坚实基础。
自今年3月28日呼图壁储气库开启第十二个注气周期以来，已累计注气8.55亿立方米，为即将到来的冬季天然气调峰保供积蓄了“能量”并增添了“底气”。
作为全国最大的天然气储气库，呼图壁储气库承担着西气东输管网沿线城市季节调峰、应急供气以及北疆地区季节调峰的双重功能。其外输天然气不仅保障了乌鲁木齐、昌吉等新疆北部城市的用气需求，还输送到北京、上海等西气东输沿线城市，在保障新疆北疆地区和西气东输管网沿线城市冬季保供和季节调峰方面发挥了至关重要的作用。目前，储气库储气量已达到百亿立方米，自2013年投运以来，已累计注气223亿立方米，累计采气186亿立方米。
