5月17日，华北油田苏桥储气库两台单机功率3兆瓦的天然气压差发电机组投运，标志着国内首台（套）兆瓦级天然气压差发电项目在华北油田投运成功，开启了储气库压差资源化利用新模式，为油田推动天然气产业绿色低碳发展提供可靠的技术支撑。
是一种零碳能源创新技术，其原理是利用天然气压力能，将高压天然气导入膨胀机做功，将压力能转化为机械能，进而驱动发电机发电，输出电能，实现“压力能到机械能再到电能”的转化。这一过程不消耗天然气、不会对环境造成影响，实现全过程零碳化。
项目成功投运，填补了我国储气库项目压差发电工程的空白，开启了天然气余压、余热资源化利用新模式，推动油气与新能源融合发展，为落实中国石油“清洁替代、战略接替、绿色转型”三步走总体部署增添了新的解决思路，一举解决了储气库压力能利用低的问题，让储气库在注入天然气的同时，还能源源不断生产“零碳”电。
据了解，该项目是中国石油首个兆瓦级压差发电项目，也是国内储气库工程中首个压力能耦合余热利用发电项目，投运当天发电3万千瓦时，预计一个储气库注气周期双机发电量可超2000万千瓦时，节约标煤6000多吨，减少二氧化碳排放近2万吨，具有良好的经济效益、社会效益和环保效益。
